Step 1 - State your intention.
What is it you want to do or be? Dream big and allow yourself to hope for your heart's desire.
My intention was that I wanted to be free from having to go to a job every day.
Step 2 - Imagine how you will feel.
This anchors your dream or vision in the emotional side of yourself.
For me, the feeling was freedom. In my ideal day, I was free to live each day as it arose.
Step 3 - Develop a specific goal.
What do you need to achieve your intention and allow you to feel it?
My goal was "I will have $1 million net worth by 2019 by selling my strategic sales and marketing expertise".
Step 4 - Create an action plan.
Now your left brain can finally be unleashed to solve the problem established in Step 3. Put all the action steps you will need to take into a step-by-step plan with deadlines.
The spreadsheet I used to achieve my goal is the one I walk you through in Retirement Planning 101.
Step 5 - Execute the action plan.
This step will require discipline and persistence. That is because your internal negative beliefs about wealth will manifest in the physical world.
After I wrote my goal in 1999, I went through three jobs, a divorce and two houses. Whenever I started to doubt, I reinforced my feelings of wealth and freedom by watching "The Thomas Crown Affair". It recharged my emotional battery.
Step 6 - Be ready to receive your wealth.
Wealth and abundance already exist in the universe. Once you have worked through your blocks by fully demonstrating your commitment and persistence, the universe will deliver your wealth.
Although I didn't retire with $1 million, I found I was able to retire 14 years earlier than I had planned.
Step 7 - Enjoy your wealth!
What you appreciate, appreciates! I love my money, and my money loves me back. I continue to monitor my net worth on a weekly basis, and I make sure I keep the money flowing by spending it within my budget. And believe me, being retired is more wonderful than I ever, ever imagined!
